Shooters are assigned classifications based on skill and progress through the ranks to compete against more skilled competitors. Each shooter competes against other shooters of similar skill and the firearm used. Scoring is 5 points for each shot that is completely inside the outline of the animal and 1 point for shots that touch the outline of the animal for a possible total score of 100. The course of fire is four, 5-round strings, one for each animal with 2 minutes for each string. Paper silhouette targets consist of 4 animal shapes placed at 50 feet consisting of Chickens, Pig, Turkeys and Rams.
